DeKalb County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 19) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Watertown Purple Tigers 2-0. The Tigers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.

Not much got past Kora Kilgore, who gave up just four hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Watertown off the board. Kilgore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

DeKalb County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

DeKalb County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Watertown, they will welcome Livingston Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
