Volleyball Recap: Hudson's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Hudson suffered their biggest loss since October 12, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Riverside Beavers. The loss put an end to the Explorers' undefeated start to the season.

Audrey Hopkins paced Hudson's offense, picking up ten kills. Hopkins got some help from Evelyn Kenney and her 14 assists. Lani Slater and Natalie Bright kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Riverside was led to victory by Julia Huffman and Makayla Koenig. Huffman had nine digs, while Koenig hit 66.7% for five kills and nine digs and two aces. Koenig is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hudson fell to 5-1. As for Riverside, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Hudson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Solon on the 26th. As for Riverside, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Lakewood on the 25th.
