Basketball Game Preview: Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles vs. West Central Trojans

The Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles will challenge the West Central Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Station Edison has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 11.

Lake Station Edison is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against NorthWood on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake Station Edison was dealt an 85-34 loss at the hands of NorthWood. The game marked the Fighting Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Central hadn't done well against North White recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West Central simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North White 64-28. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Lake Station Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for West Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Lake Station Edison beat West Central 44-36 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was West Central's Bryce Nannenga, who en route to 23 points.
