Baseball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley lost to Handley back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5.

Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Sanders, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Mason Yarbrough was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6-1. As for Handley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Valley and Handley will both be playing Benjamin Russell the next time they take the field. The Rams will head out to face the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 3:30 p.m.
