Volleyball Recap: Wood Comes Up Short

Wood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the River City Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Wood was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into River City's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11, 25-19.

Wood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for River City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Wood will take on Sacramento at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for River City, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against River Valley on the 12th.
