Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset). Everything went their way against the Pearsall Mavericks on Friday as the Somerset Bulldogs made off with a 61-41 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Somerset's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-19. As for Pearsall, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Floresville the next time they take the court. Somerset will host Floresville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pearsall will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
