Baseball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Catholic Barons vs. Northeast Vikings

The St. Petersburg Catholic Barons will challenge the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Petersburg Catholic hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, St. Petersburg Catholic came up short against Calvary Christian and fell 5-1.

St. Petersburg Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Carbonell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Mateo Sanz also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Northeast owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Lakewood. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Forrest Nelson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Michael Marley was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

St. Petersburg Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
