Basketball Recap: International Falls Comes Up Short

International Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers, falling 107-51. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Rangers are ranked 102nd).

Mountain Iron-Buhl had a senior duo take command as Tj Duchamp went 12 of 21 on his way to 34 points and five steals and Micaden Clines went 9 for 13 en route to 21 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. That's the most points Duchamp has posted since back in December of 2024. Chris King was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

International Falls' loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

International Falls will welcome Lake of the Woods at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cass Lake-Bena at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cass Lake-Bena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Mountain Iron-Buhl likes a good challenge.
