Soccer Game Preview: Fossil Ridge vs. Grandview

The Fossil Ridge SaberCats will head out on the road to take on the Grandview Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fossil Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while Grandview will be coming in after a loss.

Fossil Ridge barely beat Rocky Mountain the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The SaberCats were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over the Lobos on Thursday. Fossil Ridge haven't had any issues with Rocky Mountain recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Grandview after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of Cherry Creek by a score of 2-1. Grandview have struggled against Cherry Creek recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-1-4. As for Grandview, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-5-2.

Fossil Ridge skirted past Grandview 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the SaberCats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
