Carrollwood Day faced Plant in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots won by a set and slipped past the Panthers 2-1. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lydia Chinchar paced Carrollwood Day's offense, picking up 13 kills. Chinchar got some help from Lia Black and her 12 assists. Madison Butters and Jansen Warbritton kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Despite the loss, Plant still got an impressive performance from Abby Bucey, who had 11 digs and five assists.

Carrollwood Day's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Plant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
