Basketball Game Preview: Tekamah-Herman Tigers vs. Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs

The Tekamah-Herman Tigers will face off against the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tekamah-Herman is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pender on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Tekamah-Herman took a blow against Pender, falling 74-31. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Pendragons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Tekamah-Herman's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brody Rogers, who posted 13 points, and Parke Loftis, who had six points.

Meanwhile, Humphrey-Lindsay came up short against West Point-Beemer on Tuesday and fell 65-53.

Tekamah-Herman will need focus on slowing down Owen Kurtenbach, one of several Humphrey-Lindsay players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 35.8% of Humphrey-Lindsay's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gavin Groteluschen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Humphrey-Lindsay's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Tekamah-Herman, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Tekamah-Herman took a serious blow against Humphrey-Lindsay in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, falling 77-39. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tekamah-Herman was down 38-14.
