Basketball Game Preview: Mason County Eastern Cardinals vs. Mesick Bulldogs

The Mason County Eastern Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Mesick Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mason County Eastern took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crossroads Charter Academy 62-16. The win was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Mesick ended up a good deal behind Traverse City Christian on Thursday and lost 81-62. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Sabres recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Mason County Eastern will need focus on slowing down Jackson Abraham, one of several Mesick players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 29 points. Issac Stroh was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Mason County Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Mesick, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-11.

Mason County Eastern beat Mesick 61-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mason County Eastern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
