Softball Recap: Frontier Victorious

After only one run in their last match, Frontier made sure to put some runs up on the board against Nipomo on Friday. Frontier never let Nipomo get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Frontier not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.

Taylor Sloss was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Charley Hawkins was a standout: she scored a run while going 1-for-3. Adalynn Garcia was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Frontier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nipomo only posted a batting average of .062.

Frontier now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Nipomo, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Frontier is taking a road trip to challenge Arroyo Grande at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Arroyo Grande has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something Frontier will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nipomo, they will host Atascadero at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
