Basketball Game Preview: Rapid River Rockets vs. Big Bay de Noc Black Bears

The Rapid River Rockets will venture away from home to square off against the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Rapid River ended up a good deal behind Manistique and lost 54-40. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Emeralds: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Big Bay de Noc came up short against Superior Central on Tuesday and fell 41-33. The matchup marked the Black Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Big Bay de Noc now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Rapid River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Rapid River came up short against Big Bay de Noc in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 50-44. Can Rapid River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
