Football Recap: Athens Piles Up the Points Against Riverton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-13 victory over the Riverton Hawks. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won nine in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gage Honn and Talon Digiovanna. Honn rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry while Digiovanna rushed for 157 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Honn's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 153 rushing yards.

Athens was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 442 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Athens' record is now 6-3. As for Riverton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

As of now, neither Athens nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
