Recap: Montgomery Academy Eagles vs. Saint James Trojans

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Montgomery Academy Eagles had no problem doing just that on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 69-40 at home. The victory was nothing new for Montgomery Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.

Brewer Welch was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 6 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skyler Stovall, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Montgomery Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Saint James, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Montgomery Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Trinity Presbyterian at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. One thing working in Montgomery Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. Saint James does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
