Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tonasket

Tonasket entered their tilt with Manson on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Trojans 9-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Saturday.

Isaiah Spangler was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has become a key player for Tonasket: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Spangler was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, Bradon Prock was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skyler Denny, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Tonasket pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Manson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tonasket will take on rival Okanogan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Manson is set to square off against their familiar foe Bridgeport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
