Softball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Eastern Eagles

The River Valley Raiders will square off against the Eastern Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while Eastern will come in with three straight wins.

River Valley lost 15-1 to Wellston on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Eastern got themselves on the board against Trimble on Thursday, but Trimble never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Tomcats. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaynna Wright 2026 made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Wright 2026 was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Rylie White 2027 and Ashlynn Thomas 2027 did most of the damage at the plate: White 2027 went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Thomas 2027 went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Thomas 2027 has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Aedre Ault 2028 was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
