North Moore hadn't done well against Jordan-Matthews recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs skirted past the Jets 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 29, 2024.

Sydney Russell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Russell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Calissa Clendenin was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

North Moore has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jordan-Matthews, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Moore will face off against Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Buccaneers at the right time seeing as the Buccaneers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will take on Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Jets surely won't give up without a fight.
