ARS/Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest organizer Travis Haddock may have pulled off the biggest coup of the high school basketball offseason by getting Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) and Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) to agree to play one another in a regular season game during the 2018-19 season.

Arguably the two biggest names in the sport, Montverde Academy and Oak Hill Academy have combined for four national titles (as recognized by MaxPreps) since 2012.

The meeting will take place at Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 2, 2019 as part of the annual ARS/Rescue Rooter National Hoopfest. Haddock confirmed the development via Facebook. Proceeds from the game will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Montverde Academy is coming off a 35-0 campaign that ended with a final No. 1 national ranking. Oak Hill Academy went 44-2 and finished the season ranked No. 3.

MaxPreps basketball writer Jordan Divens identified the perennial powers as the top two programs of the last five years with Montverde Academy compiling a 145-8 record over that span and Oak Hill Academy going 215-13.

The two teams last met in the Dick's Nationals championship game (now known as GEICO Nationals) in 2015, a 70-61 win for Montverde Academy in the final high school game for Ben Simmons.

Montverde Academy also beat Oak Hill Academy at the postseason event in 2013 and 2014, giving Kevin Boyle a 3-0 record against Steve Smith since taking over the program in 2011. The two teams have not met in the regular season.
Tip-off for the last meeting between Montverde Academy and Oak Hill Academy, which took place at Madison Square Garden to close out the 2015 season.
