Softball Game Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Dekaney Wildcats

The Eisenhower Eagles will take on the Dekaney Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eisenhower has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eisenhower fell victim to Spring and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 16-0 to the Lions. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dekaney challenged Benjamin Davis on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 26-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Dekaney got a massive performance out of Ja'Ziyah Limon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Limon has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AaLiyah Benitez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Dekaney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .939. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .588 or higher in five consecutive games.

This is the second loss in a row for Eisenhower and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Dekaney, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
