Football Recap: Springport's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Nine + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Springport had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Manchester Flying Dutchmen 47-8 on Friday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 35 points or more this season.

Springport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Easton Merrill led the charge by rushing for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Those 142 rushing yards gave Merrill a new career-high. Gibson Overweg helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springport was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win keeps Springport at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.9 points on average this season. As for Manchester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
