Football Recap: Mount St. Joseph Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Calvert Hall

Mount St. Joseph faced Calvert Hall in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The game between the Gaels and the Cardinals didn't end well, with the Gaels falling 28-14. The Gaels were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brian Stewart, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount St. Joseph and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Calvert Hall, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Mount St. Joseph and Calvert Hall will both be playing McDonogh the next time they take the field. The Gaels will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will host them at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.
