Baseball Recap: Buckley Takes a Loss

Buckley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Oakwood Owls, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Tuesday.

Buckley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Rubin, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Buckley's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Oakwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Buckley will face off against Canyon at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakwood, they will square off against Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Owls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
