Basketball Recap: Eureka Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eureka can now relate to. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manual Rams. The Hornets have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Manual was led to victory by Nyanna Payton and Breyasia Grayson. Payton dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Grayson went 7-for-8 to rack up 18 points and six boards. Payton has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Admyre Thompson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Manual, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-11.

Eureka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manual, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-40 loss against Deer Creek-Mackinaw on the 20th.
