Basketball Game Preview: Cousino Patriots vs. De La Salle Collegiate Pilots

The Cousino Patriots will take on the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots in a tournament on Friday. Cousino has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Cousino had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Lake Shore on Wednesday. Cousino put the hurt on Lake Shore with a sharp 64-43 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Patriots have posted since January 16th.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De La Salle Collegiate). They walked away with an 81-70 victory over Roseville on Wednesday. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Cousino has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. De La Salle Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Cousino came up short against De La Salle Collegiate in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, falling 71-62. Can Cousino avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
