Baseball Recap: South Fremont Cougars vs. Filer Wildcats
After flying high against Bear Lake on Friday, South Fremont came back down to earth. The Cougars took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Filer Wildcats on Saturday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Jordan Hammond was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colter Hansen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
South Fremont now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Filer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Looking ahead, South Fremont will head out on the road to challenge Kimberly at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
