Softball Game Preview: North Mac Panthers vs. Pittsfield Saukees

The North Mac Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Pittsfield Saukees at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Mac comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

North Mac lost 18-3 to Southwestern on Tuesday.

North Mac saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lennox Wiseman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Wiseman's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Pittsfield didn't have quite enough to beat Carlinville on Thursday and fell 12-11.

Grace Henry and Sophie Gengler did some serious damage despite the final result: Henry got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Gengler went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Taylor Peebles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

North Mac's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Pittsfield, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3-1.

North Mac skirted past Pittsfield 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saukees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
