It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Millington Central Trojans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Gibson County with a 66-62 win. The win was familiar territory for Millington Central who now have three in a row.
Millington Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayshaun Dye led the charge by scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Dye's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jyshawn Anderson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Millington Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Gibson County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Millington Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Westview at 8:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Gibson County, they will be playing at home against Crockett County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crockett County has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
