Softball Recap: Montevideo Takes a Loss

Montevideo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the B O L D Warriors. If the Thunderhawks were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Koosman Megan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Montevideo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Pederson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Jayla Kinman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Montevideo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for B O L D, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Montevideo will face off against Yellow Medicine East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for B O L D, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lac qui Parle Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
