Fort Bend Austin is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Fort Bend Clements: they outscored them in every quarter. Fort Bend Austin was the clear victor by a 67-43 margin over Fort Bend Clements on Monday.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend Travis hadn't done well against Fort Bend Elkins recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Fort Bend Travis made off with a 46-45 victory over Fort Bend Elkins. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Knights are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Bend Austin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Fort Bend Travis, their record now sits at 14-1.
