Baseball Game Preview: Valley Center Jaguars vs. Poway Titans

The Valley Center Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Poway Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Valley Center has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Poway will arrive with seven straight victories.

On Friday, Valley Center came up short against Westview and fell 7-3.

Valley Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JD Marquez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Poway sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Fallbrook on Friday.

Poway also got a great performance from Davis Rodriguez as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Rodriguez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Camden Bowser was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jack Hanson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Poway, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
