Baseball Recap: Basalt Takes a Loss

If Basalt was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Olathe on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns lost 14-2 to the Coal Ridge Titans on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.

Basalt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Schendler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Basalt's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Coal Ridge, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1.

While Basalt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
