Basketball Recap: Shipley Takes a Loss

Shipley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 72-44 loss at the hands of the Malvern Prep Friars. Shipley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.

Shipley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Stevie Maniatis, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Rassmussen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Shipley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Malvern Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Shipley will take on Timber Creek Regional in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Malvern Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-74 loss against Archbishop Wood on the 21st.
