Recap: Robertson Cardinals vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers
The Robertson Cardinals were the 34-29 winner over the Albuquerque Academy Chargers when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Robertson fell 54-41 to Albuquerque Academy on Thursday.
Robertson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyxa King-Greenwalt, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Martinez, who scored 12 points.
Robertson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Albuquerque Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robertson will challenge Los Alamos at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Albuquerque Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (St. Pius X is ranked 17th, while Albuquerque Academy is ranked 31st).
