Football Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Salem's offense. They fell 10-0 to the Cox Falcons on Friday. That makes it the first time this season the Sundevils have let down their home crowd.

Cox was led to victory by Tyre J Jefferies and Grady Swango. J Jefferies rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown, while Swango rushed for 71 yards. J Jefferies really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cox, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem will challenge rival Tallwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cox is set to take on their familiar foe Princess Anne at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
