Basketball Game Preview: Raytown South Cardinals vs. Smithville Warriors

The Raytown South Cardinals are taking a road trip to square off against the Smithville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Raytown South, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Raytown South turned things around against Ruskin on Friday. They secured a 60-56 W over the Golden Eagles.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-35, which was the final score in Smithville's tilt against Platte County on Thursday.

Raytown South's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Smithville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Raytown South couldn't quite finish off Smithville when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 53-50. Can Raytown South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
