Aiken put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Walton-Verona Bearcats 77-59. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered an 86-81 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aiken got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Burnett Jr. out in front who went 9 for 16 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Burnett Jr. has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwan Hinton, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Aiken smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Aiken pushed their record up to 16-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.8 points per game. As for Walton-Verona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aiken will take on Withrow at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aiken is facing Withrow at the right time seeing as Withrow is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Walton-Verona has already played their next matchup (against Simon Kenton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
