Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Alamance Stallions vs. Orange Panthers

The Southeast Alamance Stallions will square off against the Orange Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast Alamance's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Orange's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Orange will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Southeast Alamance extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Stallions blew past Southwestern Randolph 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Orange and Williams had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since March 25, 2022.

Ryan Sawyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Orange secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Mason Grooms, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Orange's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Southeast Alamance, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
