Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Bulldogs vs. Mechanicsburg Wildcats

The Wilson Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Mechanicsburg Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wilson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 win over William Penn. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th in Pennsylvania, while the Bearcats are ranked 96th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg hadn't done well against Cumberland Valley recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Mechanicsburg walked away with a 48-37 victory over Cumberland Valley.

Wilson pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Mechanicsburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
