Football Recap: Overland Trailblazers vs. Smoky Hill Buffaloes
Overland took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Smoky Hill Buffaloes 40-0 at home. This was payback for the Trailblazers, who suffered a 7-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jarrius Ward was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.
Overland will take on Vista PEAK Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Overland focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Thursday. As for Smoky Hill, they will face off against Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smoky Hill will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
