In other pitching news, Cole Reed looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Lucas Collins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Paul Baumgartner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Wayne only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Garrett posted their closest win since April 17th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Fremont 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Railroaders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Grant Byers made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Byers was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Hogle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Garrett, their record is now 4-13.
