Recap: Heard County Braves vs. Temple Tigers
The Heard County Braves entered their tilt with the Temple Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Heard County enjoyed a cozy 43-29 victory over Temple on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Heard County also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Heard County found their leader in underclassman Ethan Tisdale, who rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Tisdale hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Antonio Heath, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Temple's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Cj Gray, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Maclann Metayer was another key contributor, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Heard County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Temple, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Heard County will square off against Lamar County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Heard County in Georgia (Lamar County is ranked 148th, while Heard County is ranked 309th). As for Temple, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Crawford County at 7:30 p.m. Crawford County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
