Woodward Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Statesboro with points to spare, taking the game 27-8. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the War Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 178th).

Woodward Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bryce Woods. He is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another thorn in Statesboro's side was Rocco Xerogeanes, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Thomas County Central was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Villa Rica 55-14. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won 11 matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Thomas County Central's win came from a few key players Woodward Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jordan McNeil, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one score. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Christian Lawrence, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries.
Woodward Academy's record is now 10-2. As for Thomas County Central, their record now sits at 12-0.
