Basketball Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Schuyler County last Thursday, Brookfield came back down to earth. The Brookfield Bulldogs took a blow against the South Shelby Cardinals on Friday, falling 53-21. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Belle Roush continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Shelby, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Callie Mcwilliams was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and six steals.

Brookfield now has a losing record at 4-5. As for South Shelby, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Brookfield and Lathrop will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th. Lathrop's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Brookfield's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for South Shelby, they will take on California at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th.
