Basketball Recap: South Aiken Takes a Loss

South Aiken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Richland Northeast Cavaliers.

When it comes to explaining why South Aiken lost, don't look at David Kearse. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keon Raysor, who earned four points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, South Aiken smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Richland Northeast was led to victory by Emmanuel Ard and Reece Jackson. Ard went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals, while Jackson put up eight points and 11 boards.

South Aiken's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Richland Northeast, they moved to 3-10 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

South Aiken didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-51 loss against Westwood on the 28th. As for Richland Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-48 defeat against J.L. Mann on the 28th.
