Preview: Tanner Rattlers vs. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions
Tanner is 6-0 against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. One thing working in Tanner's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Tanner scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They were the clear victor by a 79-58 margin over Whitesburg Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Tanner has posted yet this season.
Skylar Townsend continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. TreJ lett was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-34 loss at the hands of Colbert County. While losing is never fun, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Colbert County is ranked 187th).
Tanner has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everything came up roses for Tanner against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tanner since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
