Basketball Game Preview: Calexico Bulldogs vs. Imperial Tigers

The Calexico Bulldogs will take on the Imperial Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Calexico is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 win over Calipatria. The 40-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Calexico's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Duffy led the charge by putting up 16 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Duffy a new career-high in points. Edgar Mendoza was another key player, scoring 14 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Imperial waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Eagles.

Imperial now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Calexico, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Everything came up roses for Calexico against Imperial in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-37 victory. Does Calexico have another victory up their sleeve, or will Imperial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
