Softball Recap: Singer Hornets vs. South Cameron Tarpons
Singer made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Cameron, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hornets blew past the Tarpons 15-5 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Jada Eaves made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Breeanna Mitchell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Landri Sandifer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Singer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

The Hornets are facing the Rebels at the right time seeing as the Rebels are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for South Cameron, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hackberry at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
