Markesan barely beat Rio the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets blew past the Vikings 3-0 on Tuesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Markesan never let Rio on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.

Markesan's offense was headlined by Karlie Olson and Jaci Walker, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Brynn Jackowski and her 23 assists. Olson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Markesan's win bumped their record up to 8-18. As for Rio, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Markesan has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Pardeeville on the 2nd. As for Rio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against North Fond du Lac on the 4th.
